translation-block\">The morning sun filters through the windows of the train on its way to <strong>Li\u00e9rganes<\/strong>. Outside you can see a landscape worthy of <strong>Cantabria<\/strong>. The buildings of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pincelviajero.com\/en\/reportaje-fotografico-perspectivas-santander\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Santander<\/a><\/strong> have been left behind and the green has gained ground. The cows grazing on the side of the road welcome you to one of the most beautiful villages with history in Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-ee2332cf wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-2c90304e wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-2c90304e wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6a40898a16c73c7e2f5de7d71bf5d94c wp-block-paragraph translation-block\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;line-height:1.5\">Leaving the station, about 200 metres away, is the <strong>main bridge.<\/strong>. Also known as the Roman bridge, it is one of the main attractions of the area. The flow of the <strong>river Miera<\/strong> and the singing of birds accompany the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c6964d98ae5640f75f40d2d55dd7db88 wp-block-paragraph translation-block\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;line-height:1.5\">On the banks of the river is the statue of the <strong>Fish Man<\/strong>, the main character in the mysterious legend that surrounds the village. Next to the bridge is the old Mercadillo mill, which is now known as the <strong>Fish Man Interpretation Centre<\/strong>. There you can learn about the legend, as well as observe, under a glass screen, the industrial mechanism of the old mill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-93c2aa250adb7f0440f25c1e47ac8add wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;line-height:1.5\">As the morning goes by, the village begins to fill up with visitors attracted by the history and nature of Li\u00e9rganes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-80380fbd6676d4d3436f060de63be3d9 wp-block-paragraph translation-block\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;line-height:1.5\">In front of the <strong>Casa Ra\u00f1ada y Portilla<\/strong>, children enthusiastically point out the flowers adorning the wooden galleries of its front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6f5d2abd4da957850546040815ca7268 wp-block-paragraph translation-block\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;line-height:1.5\">On the way to the <strong>Plaza del Marqu\u00e9s de Valdecilla<\/strong>, the sensation of being lost in history is accentuated. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, between streets and stone walls, time seems to stand still.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6060e6110319854a665f9377c55ba6af wp-block-paragraph translation-block\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;line-height:1.5\">Along the walk, the mansions of classicist architecture with coats of arms on their fa\u00e7ades, such as the <strong> Casa Langre<\/strong>, attract attention. Likewise, the <strong>Casa de los Ca\u00f1ones<\/strong>, one of the most important buildings, attracts attention with its baroque fa\u00e7ade and the war cannons that flank it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-79da89a78c77b0ab7aa01ae6d7f0ce6e wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;line-height:1.5\">La siguiente parada es la <strong>Iglesia de San Pantale\u00f3n<\/strong>, que se encuentra en una zona alta al sur del pueblo. Sin embargo, llegar hasta ella no es tarea f\u00e1cil. Se debe recorrer un camino bastante peculiar que parte desde la Huertuca de Li\u00e9rganes. Se le conoce como el <strong>V\u00eda Crucis, y<\/strong>a que tiene diferentes cruces que se\u00f1alan la ruta a seguir, simulando el recorrido de Jes\u00fas. Fue creado por los habitantes del pueblo como agradecimiento por regresar sanos y salvos de la guerra civil espa\u00f1ola.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8003bea119866638037c45ce31640365 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;line-height:1.5\">When you reach the top of the hill, the tiredness disappears and is replaced by admiration and surprise as you find yourself in front of a panoramic view of Li\u00e9rganes. While small butterflies fly around the place, in the distance, the ringing of bells accompanies the birds in their song. Once again, the green steals the spotlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-21eebc73a3ae141f442519cf9b852170 wp-block-paragraph translation-block\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;line-height:1.5\">But this is not the only attraction. In front of the sober church, some swings invite you to sit on them. The sensation of going back in time and contemplating, with the same illusion of a child, the landscape that stretches into the distance while your feet do not touch the
